I feel like I'm starting to stray from my career goal, which is working for an anime company in Japan. I don't want to try anymore.
Face it, my art sucks and it'll ever improve to those generic shiny artworks that everyone adores. People like that and only that.
I've been drawing less and less as a hobby and more as a class and something to kill time in government class with.
I've been having artblocks more often, or just give up in the middle of a drawing because nobody would acknowledge it anyways.
I am a hopeless loafer with no future.
Sorry for wasting your time.

he didn't get his experiment right in one try. of course, your art will get better as well. if drawing and stuff is your heart's desire, go for it. always a backup plan, but follow your dreams no matter what. ^^

I'm Tohma H. Norstein in dA's Digimon Crew!
Then they get rigorous art training. As you are now, yes, forget about working as an animator. Fortunately, you are at the age where you can do this crazy thing others have done called "go to art school."
Have you taken art? What level? If you're in the US, have you been in an AP level art class? If you haven't even taken a shot at getting into an AP art class, then you've cut yourself off at the knees. Lofty goals aren't a bad thing, but then no whinging about not attaining it if you aren't taking the appropriate steps.
I know this sounds harsh but I understand your feelings. I'm currently trying to fight for some very limited video game design jobs here in Japan. I've been an emo mess but thanks to some friends and family giving me a much needed mental kick in the ass, I'm getting back on track now.

I'm going to totally agree with ~HarunaAkatsuki here. I get frustrated at it, too, but people who draw that gorgeously are probably sitting and ripping their hair out in the beginning stages as well. Of course, it seems like those people are ridiculously talented and can just do anything right the right time, (I wish I was one of them…
You have extremely high career goals, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Art is just ridiculously competitive and subjective. If you're going to fight for it, you're going to have to learn to take constructive criticism, practice, and stop wanting to give up every time one tiny little thing goes wrong.
Also, don't stray from your path if you truly believe in it just because someone had a stick up their arse. I'm sure you've heard this same story plenty of times in its many other forms for many other people, but my grandfather was told by his middle school teacher he just sucked at math and to never go into a career goal with math involved. He ended up being an engineer at DuPont. Just sayin’.
Also, devART is nice site to display your artwork, but there is a slight obsession with popularity, pageviews, and comments/favorites. Art isn't about that (at least in my eyes). It's about the everlasting feelings you give someone when they view your artwork. Don't forget that.
Seeing your latest drawing I believe was a VAST improvement. You really DO keep getting better and I'm not just saying that to give you an ego-boost. We support you as your friends and want to see you succeed.

And go watch Miyazaki’s Whisper of the Heart. You’ll feel better. AND EAT SOME NOODLES.

Maybe you could take a little break to search for the reasons why you started drawing in the first place? What made it fun for you? What made you determined to continue to do art? What did you want to express to everyone with your art? But, please draw for your enjoyment rather than others and try not to worry too much about how everyone else views your work.
Your art doesn't suck, either! It is different from those "usual" anime styles, and I think that is what makes it awesome. You have a very unique style, and I can see improvements throughout your gallery ^^
Just keep doing your best! I am certain you will reach your goal faster than you think

"How strong must I become so that no one gets hurt?" ☆彡

I did drawing poses, facial expressions, etc. A bunch of drawing memes helped out, and honestly, all that really DOES work. You can't expect your art to suddenly and magically improve. you have to work at it. And you know? So what if other people are better? Drawing is your magical world that *you* create. Don't let it get to you.

I'm glad I have a -sort of- backup, I've always been inclined to music, so I may play my viola in college and hopefully have it get me somewhere if all else fails.;; But I heard music is a hard competition too... orz
Heck my parents don't know how upset I am about myself (apparently I'm good at hiding feelings), but thanks a bunch you all for the support.
